When examinations for 12th standard are over in India, students begin looking for a better future and career options. Science-related students often chose medical or engineering streams. Established Career Opportunities After 12th
After 12th science students chose Bachelor of Engineering/Technology (B.E., B.Tech.), Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) and some prefer to do specialization along with Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.).
Students desiring to study engineering can opt for civil, electrical, electronics, mechanical, information technology, automobile or chemical engineering. Other than this there are options in biotechnology, aerospace technology, aeronautical engineering, etc.
Students having biology in 12th standard often opt for M.B.B.S. to make their future. M.B.B.S. is a combined degree course of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. During this course students study biochemistry, pharmacy, microbiology, medicine, surgery, paediatrics, ophthalmology, physiology, pathology, forensic medicine and gynaecology related subjects.
Alternative Degree Courses After 12th
Science students have a lot of options other than engineering and medical science. In modern times students are not crazy about M.B.B.S. and are looking for better options in the related field. The reason for this is excessive competition for few seats in medical institutions and it takes much time to complete the course as compared to other courses. Many students are now opting for dentistry, physiotherapy, pharmacy and occupational therapies. Drug designing is an emerging sector in pharmacy. Although it is not much developed in India, it has high demand in developed countries.
