According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, careers in music, such as musicians and singers, are expected to grow around 11 percent by 2016. Thus, If you are thinking about pursuing a degree in music, your career prospects look great. After graduation, your career choices include working in the administrative, business, performance or technical aspects of music.

    Music Therapist

  1. Music therapists work in hospitals, mental health clinics, prisons and other locations where they can utilize music as a therapeutic means to improve patients' mental and physical health.

    2. Arranger

  2. An arranger uses his transcribing and composition skills to tailor music for vocalists and musicians. Arrangers work with bands, choirs and orchestras on tempo, volume and other musical elements to ensure that the music composition is expressed properly.

    3. Music Librarian

  3. Music librarians catalog music collections, including books, magazines and recordings. They work in music publishing houses, and in academic and public libraries.

    4. Music Teacher

  4. Teaching students the fundamentals of music theory and instrumentation is the major role of a music teacher. Music teachers work in schools, colleges and universities.

    5. Composer

  5. A music composer composes and transcribes original music, such as film scores, operas, symphonies and TV jingles.
